As a final year BSc Transportation student, I heard first hand from one of our lecturers, Oliver McKenna (Accessible Services Development Manager, Translink) why the destination screens have been changed as such.
A combination of upper and lower case lettering has been proven to be easier read by people with visual impairments (partially sighted) as well as those with Dyslexia. All digital screens will be changed forthwith.
