Allow me to introduce myself for those of you who have never heard of us. We are - we think - the largest operating museum in these isles with some 62 vehicles. We are equally interested in northern ireland vehicles as well as southern not to mention UK. It is simply that we have been so busy collecting southern vehicles we have had little time for anything else.
We aim to have 200 vehicles by mid 2002.
We ask readers of this board to help us identifying vehicles from the N.I. fleets which should be preserved. Our direct e-mail is busmuseum@hotmail.com.
Currently we have four Ulsterbus Leopards, two Bedfords and Bristol RE. It is our intention to have the first of a type in its original livery.
All information will be gratefully received.
I ntocied comments re 2187. She is being restored to full Ulsterbus colours complete with her POI registration. She is coming to Cork for bodywork, will do considerable photo work there and eventually go to the bangor rally if we can get her into pristine condition.
We have an extensive report on our fleet and activites and if anyone would like to have a copy then please e-mail us and we will send it. Membership of our museum is free through the
endof 2002.
We need some help from people up north to assist us in getting vehiciles and we already are fortunate to have Richard Shannon who is invaluable. Are there any drivers up there or engineers who might help?
So do join up, it's free. We need all the help we can get.
Could I suggest that if enough people would like we will keep you updated via this message board.
We look forward to your comments and hearing from you. It is an Irish bus museum and that means the entire island.
Regards
Michael Grimes
