When a person hires a bus from Ulsterbus they usually expect to receive one of the newer members of the fleet but as with the case of express work this does not always happen. In Coleraine when a person hires a bus they will only get a Goldliner if (1) they ask for it or (2) ask for a bus with seat belts. If no Goldliner is available Coleraine will send 1486/7/or8 - all Cityliners with the high backed seats. If a person asks to hire a bus, then Cityliners in the 1440's are used or Tigers in the 1310 number range.
The oldest bus I have spotted in the Coleraine area operating a private hire was Leopard 240 WOI 2240.
