2599 was not the last RE registered. There used to be an RE 2600 BXI 2600 but sadly it was destroyed a couple of year's ago , so 2599 has taken over as the last RE. 2599 is a Coleraine bus , but it is allocated to the small Kilrea depot. Like most of the Ulsterbus fleet of Leopard's and Bristol's, 2599 spends most of it's time operating school services. One public service that 2599 often operates is the 8.10am from Kilrea to Coleraine (service no.116). Apart from that 2599 spend's most of it's time on school services out of Kilrea (service no. 114/115).
You would need to ask one of the inspector's in Coleraine to find out where 2599 is on the day of your visit.
