See the latest Translink fleet news (22/3/2001)
A large number of Ulsterbus and Citybus buses have been sold to Beatties for scrap. A large number of RE's are about to be scraped including a bus that has just been placed in reserve from Laganside - ex Citybus 2456 (WOI 2456).
Sad to see leopard 178 (VOI 178) also about to be scrapped. 178 was moved from Great Vic. to a number of depots last year, and saw short periods of service at both Coleraine and Downpatrick.
I think that many of these buses have a good lot of years left in them yet. I know it would be impossible to save them all but it would be nice to see a few examples being preserved. The next couple of years will see even less Leopards and Bristols on our roads so now is the time to save these buses when they are still around.
