I tried to post this message on your site but my e-mail provider crashed recently so I can't provide an address. The picture of 1196 is advertising Lanes Oil, a local company in Derry. The clue as to what it is advertising is in the "number" on the destination blind. Although 1196 was allocated to Derry (country)with the all over ad, I can't remember it in Derry prior to this, mind you it was 7 years ago and I was only 14 at the time. Around the same time 1199 appeared with an all over ad for Lanes coal(also allocated to Derry country). Despite this both were frequently used on the city services(1199 is now fitted with city destinations). Does anyone know if these were always allocated to Derry? I recall that they appeared after Newry based 1197 had spent a few months here.(1993-4?)
