Bit of a strange one this.
Sometimes you come across buses that to the eye look the same but have slight differences. For example you may find it hard to distinguish between a Leyland Tiger and a Leyland Lynx(apart from tha fact the latter were numbered in the 3000s). The Bedford in question is in my opinion virtually indistinguishable from a Bristol LH. I have a picture of Beford YLQ 1753
HOI 1753 with 256 Larne Express on the front. According to "25 Years Forward
With Ulsterbus" there were about 70 Bedfords bought in the early 70s(however
it isn't clear if it refers to YLQ's). I'll quote:"Determined to reduce the average age of the fleet to 14 years the fledgling Ulsterbus placed orders for 83 new buses, including 70 Bedfords Built in Blackpool. Their major attraction was a low purchase price...but they proved unpopular with drivers and were not very durable" So they were not around for long. Hope this helps. I have checked all my books but this and the picture are all I have to go on.
