    Destinations on Citybus Tickets

Yesterday evening I got a Citybus (2922 on route 84) from Sainsbury's to Botanic Avenue. I said Botanic Avenue to the driver but he gave me a ticket that said City Centre. Was he just being lazy or does anybody know is this allowed / standard policy? I know it happens all the time in Dublin where the driver gives you a ticket to the furtherest stage you can go for the fare you have paid, rather than where you are actually going even if you have said to him.

I think it's not a very good idea because passenger traffic statistics should be able to be obtained from ticket issue records and not require a separate survey. If drivers are putting in the wrong destination stage then accuracy will be lost.
