Further to yesterday's message you can also see the same characteristics
evole through the Leopard fleet.
About 10 years ago I remember seeing 1972 and 1975(prob. JOI) operating in
Derry. These carried similar attributes which I mentioned Yesterday to the
earlier Bristols**.
Therefore if a Bristol and a leopard were bought at the same time the should
have the same shaped indicators, wipers and the same style of interior.
** I am led to believe that the 2000 series were not first style of Bristol.
Apart from the selection numbered in the 700s (prob. unidentifiable as Bristols) there were 20 Bristol RE's bought exclusively for Derry. One has been preserved (1058) and for picture see
www.irishtransporttrust.freeserve.co.uk/1058.gif
They were all dual doored and didn't have a service no, rather a letter to
denote the service. Originally they had the whole lower half painted light blue.
They later more or less became the same as now except the wheels were also
painted blue. I vaguely remember these for their unique doors and wiper style.
I also have a picture of 1054 probably dated from the early seventies.
Have a look.
