The quality of timetables has been going down the drain in recent years yet the marketing department are of the opinion that the new ones are better. The old style traditionally showed all the journeys between two places no matter what service number they were, whereas the new style is simplified, presumably to suit the inferior computer timetable software they are using, and it tends to show all the service numbers separately even when large parts of their route are the same. It is also obvious in many places that the timetable clerk doesn't have much idea of the geographical arrangement of the places mentioned in the timetable. I am going to do a feature about all this on the website when I have time. I might try and concentrate more on this side of bus operations as many other people are doing a good job of providing information about the vehicles these days.
