Just a wierd and wonderful fact I remember from early days. You may notice Leyland Tigers 480 - 482, originally allocated to Gt Victoria St depot recently. 481 was destroyed as well as 482. Anyhow, they had the registrations IXI 1480 - 1482 respectively, while other buses had just the three digits. Why? - The education board were having Tigers made at the same time, and when it cam to registration, they were allocated IXI 480 etc. by mistake, while the Ulsterbuses had to take second best!!
